We're all crawling with disease in the New World.

So who wants me to cough in a handkerchief and send it to our friends overseas ala pox blankets?

I love the use of the word swine. When was the last time you could use that word in serious conversation?

Swine.

Awesome.

I've had a sinus infection for like a week and a half.  Should I self-quarantine?
Pour the wine, hold the grind, quarter to nine, let's go.

The viruses contain genetic pieces from four different virus sources...

North American swine influenza
North American avian influenza
human influenza
Asia and Europe swine influenza

I found that interesting.

Pigs are a common host for generating mixed-lineage viruses such as the current one, as they have a sugar combination that allows them to play host to both avian and mammalian viral strains.

Virology is honestly fascinating. The more biology a person learns the more bullshit like creationism falls away. I encourage all interest in biology.

Virology is honestly fascinating.
Had it not been for "Drug Wars" on the TI-82, I would have gone into virology.  I was specifically interested in bacteriophages.

(The BASIC language on the TI-82 was slightly different from the BASIC used by the TI-85.  So, when a friend copied the game onto my calculator, it didn't work.  I decided to try to fix it, however, which showed me that programming computers was pretty easy.)

Ah the TI-82. I think I may be the only person to have ever completed The TI-82 Legend of Zelda. It was a truly horrible game. I certainly wouldn't have been plying it if I didn't have Orgo to study.

Re: Swine Flu Reply #16 on: April 28, 2009, 08:40:00 PM
I started using a TI-82 in the 5th grade and have been ever since (TI-83 now) and I'm 24 now.  I can still program on it very well.  Whenever I take math/science courses or work with numbers I always write programs to do the busy work for me so I can just plug and chug faster.

Re: Swine Flu Reply #17 on: April 28, 2009, 09:03:48 PM
I think the TI-83 is basically the love-child of the 82 (usability) and the 85 (power).

Here's an app you guys will like:

I'll post it in the "free downloads" section as well.
It needs a ROM, but you can find those everywhere, these days.

Although, let me say I enjoyed the fact that Danzig was able to get so close to the edge of incomprehensibility there. Good show in a way.

Now back to the main topic: I had a TI-82 dongle for a while that could be used to dl games. I actually don't know where my TI-82 is at the moment. Good summer project for me.
