For some reason I've got an icon with a red X stating the "The audio service is not running" Yet everything with the speakers and mic seems to be functioning properly. I don't get it, clicking or right clicking doesn't explain anything about what the problem seems to be. This mic I'm using is cheap and sounds a little muffled but should be good enough for this.

I have a professional mic and mixer and a stand somewhere, but I'm not about to go dig it out for this. Well the stand is right here and I might use it since it is right here.

Thanks man, it's not as good as I've done it before but this was sort of forced.
I used to be able to do a great version of the Archie Bunker theme, doing both Archie and Edith's parts ... but not any more.

I tried to do a couple of songs and wasn't happy with how it sounded but I've never actually recorded myself before so this is a learning experience. I may post vocal covers for a couple of songs before this thread disappears.

Elvis's Teddy Bear comes to mind, only a short version with lyric twist. about 15 years ago when the Elvis impersonator phase was in full swing I could do this short version pretty good, good enough to make the ladies take notice when I claimed I could do him better than the guys on TV, but I have never been able to come even close to his normal speaking voice.
