There best way to enjoy life is to give me all of your money.

One of my earliest memories of Christianity was my little brother's CHristening.
A remember the priest saying all this stuff about children and death and "we will let them live their lives until the Lord wishes to take them" stuff.

Being only 2 yrs old, at one point I literally decided to make a run for it.I was *convinced* they were gonna bump me off...!

PS NO I wasn't in the Branch Davidians LOL

Re: Meandering ... Reply #152 on: August 19, 2009, 04:57:24 AM
I went to church until I was 17. I don't believe it much now, but it kept me out of trouble until I was able to weigh the consequences of substance abuse as a youth vs a life on welfare

cmt: i saw my biology teacher today!! Awesome. He was one of my favourite teachers.

And biology was a subject I wasn't half bad in.

And another thought - he's a creationist.

He was with his family (wife and 2 kids). But they appeared to be in a rush so I didnt really get to talk to him.

He just noticed my pass for work (which I forgot to take off) and we told him we were working.

Fearing death is fearing life.

That's exactly what I fear. Reincarnation.

When I was in magnet school, for science and math, I thought I wasn't bad at biology either.  I decided to take it in college and it was one of the hardest subjects I have ever studied.  High school in the United States it a load of crap.

Right ON, sista!

They shade things, and make them seem impossible, but they AREN't impossible, at all!

Why would anyone want to "correct/censor" science?

Because the truth is their enemy, and will shoot them, dead.

Why would anyone want to "correct/censor" science?

Various religions have been trying to do just that for ages.
ever tried. ever failed. no matter. try again. fail again. fail better.

cmt: we got back late today, looking at houses but god I really dont want to move.

Could hear the smoke alarm from outside. My brother took absolutely ages with the keys; in that time my parents got there and opened the door instead.

Whole place was filled with smoke. Horrible. Luckily no fire.... just no dinner either!

Hardest? I thought biology was supposed to be the easiest science.

Re: Meandering ... Reply #159 on: August 20, 2009, 05:29:23 PM
Biology is the easiest science at university.

Re: Meandering ... Reply #160 on: August 20, 2009, 05:58:28 PM

Actually, i think Math is the easiest ~

the "rules/algorithms" are carved in stone, up to a certain point;

they cross over into most other sciences, including logic;

and they're "pure."

What is true, is true.  End of discussion.  lol

Math doesn't count as a science.

And even if it did I'd say I bet it's harder than Biology, by a long shot.

NOOO!  Math is EASY.

There are certain rules, IMMUTABLE laws, that you use.

And, for all you would ever use them, remain constant!

Once you know the formula, it's over.

Yeah, it's like that!

p.s.  i do believe that math was the FIRST science...

Math actually gets pretty difficult beyond the introductory levels of calculus and differential equations.

Most of what you do in higher level physics is complex mathematics.

I've never even done calculus before.

Also, once you know the formula. Well duh. everything is easy when you know the trick and you know what you're doing. xD

And I said it doesn't count as a science, which is true. It doesn't really anymore, not mainstream at least. Not that it isn't a science.... I do think about my phrasing occasionally.

It's cool, though!  You're helping me to keep up with how folks actually look at me, from outside of me.

It's a trip.  i sort of suck, and i'm sort of cool, and i am definitely OUT THERE...

Maths and shit.I did A level maths, all calculus and shit.
10 years later it might have been half way worth while.
Except only if it was done with a computer. So I could do stock market shit with it.

So now I feel its like double or even triple wasted cos I cant even remember where my course notes went.

It'd be much easier to hire a techie tho, and promise to pay him in sex.(OBviously from  attractive women, not myself).

cmt:  I'm fairly certain by this point no one actually cares but oh well.

Today was my last day at work. And it was pretty damn awesome, ignoring some of the bits in the morning, and pretty much all of lunchtime.

I was with the test people again, all day. After lunch it was a lot better, I didnt have much to do but I was talking to Pete and Matt.

At around 3.30pm most of the people in the lab left so it was just us three and a few people wandering in and out occasionally.

Then this ginger guy came in too. Who I didn't/don't like... but nonetheless.

But they're pretty funny guys. And it was cool.

Plus Matt was the guy who helped me in my quest to find the missing printer (insanely fun but we didn't find it, ha) sometime in my first week there.

I even got called cynical. haha... xD

cmt: I need to go to sleep now. these past few hours were fun. I could think of one think to make it better but I can't change that so no point wasting time over it. I guess.

Tomorrow, well, later today. In about 9 hours time I am going to get my GCSE results. It was nice not having to think about it. *sigh*

CMT: When you write grades do you write ' two Bs ' or ' two B's ' because I really don't know the rules for this.

Anyway. 2 B's, 1 A* and the rest were A's.
Not as bad as I thought, I don't deserve it though.
At least I saw my friends for a short period of time.
