265's not that much for 6'3. But does it bother you?

According to the National BMI I'm obese. The healthy body weight for my height is 190-205.

Yup. I weigh 205 and I'm 6'. I'm allegedly overweight.

I'm 5'9ish, 175, and in the best shape of my life, but according to BMI I'm still just overweight. To be dead centre of "normal" weight for my height, I'd have to be 147 lbs, which is a little ridiculous. BMI's not a completely useless measurement, but unless you're a woman or a marathon runner, it's worth taking with a pinch of salt.

I'm 5'9ish as well and I'm back up to 168, I had dropped to a recent low of 154.

I liked being BMI wise underweight.
Now I'm just normal.

Check out these freaks.

http://doodiepants.com/2011/06/04/synthol-bodybuilding-muscle-freaks/

Skinny guys are perfect for this because they can actually be sculpted to look more natural, I think fatter guys are at a disadvantage because you can't take that shit off.

I can see movie stars having this done for roles such as with Tom Cruise in the fairly recent "Knight and Day" (pretty darn good actually). It these cases only slight enhancement to provide definition would be required .

I can imagine them just editing the footage to make themselves look better.

When was your accident thrash? I'm sure you've spoken of it before, I just don't remember it.

That takes thousands of dollars in CGI to follow the motion so well. Easier to modify the actor.

A few years back (6 or 7, I'm thinking) ...
... I was stilling still in traffic and was hit from behind at 60MPH
... it almost separated my neck from my shoulders
... I'm just NOW able to lift weights again and it still causes me large amts of pain, like right now, in fact
... I lost my ripped body as a result, however, I shall slowly get it back

... and thanks for asking!

Re: Current Exercise Thoughts Reply #102 on: May 25, 2012, 09:36:58 PM
I was pretty cut back in the day. I bet a few weeks of situps would bring me back to awesomeness, but then again I might stroke out trying. At least I know I don't have hundreds of pounds to lose before trying. (no offense)

I went from a weakling at 150 to a powerhouse at 165 in only 8 weeks of basic training. I know that every ounce of that gain was pure muscle .  I can't preclude myself from doing that again sometime because now I know anything is possible.

Seems pretty far fetched, though ya never know.

Eh fuck ya

Yeah I bought a couple forties eat me.

Ah man, thats rough. At least you survived, that is the important thing.

What happened to the driver?

My friend had a similar ish thing happen to him, just a lot less extreme. He was fine, just had to go to the hospital for a check up. I didn't know so I got mad at him for oversleeping (i assumed that was why he wasn't there).

I asked you once, right after your Xmas call, and you didn't answer and now I see why! I'm glad you are doing all right- I was just in a similar accident- although the other persons speed was 45mph.
My sister was driving us-we were stopped at a red light.
She is having all kinds of trouble with her spine.
The doc said that if I hadn't been working out regularly (or at all) that I might have actually had injuries.

I hope you continue to get stronger.

Thanks to you both ...
I'm working on it, and I am the same; the strength of my neck kept it from separating ...

... The driver was ok; his elderly mom had minor injuries; then again, they saw it coming, I did not

... Again, I'm slowly getting it back
... I see the doc tomorrow, then, more working out

I rarely listen to music when working out, other than whatever bullshit the gym is playing. I don't like having anything directly in my ears, and for cycling purposes it's more dangerous than it's worth to not be able to hear what's going on around me.

I have been working out a lot lately.  I have been lifting weights and running 2.5 miles a day.  It is working, I'm skinny as hell.

Re: Current Exercise Thoughts Reply #118 on: July 01, 2012, 01:27:15 AM
