I'm hoping that I feel the same way tomorrow, in which case fuck a doctor, I'm fine. If not, I guess I'll rethink. Anyway, am I being too flippant about this? Am I a fool for not wanting to go see a doctor unless absolutely necessary?
Wow. I had that happen to me, years ago. It started out like a normal cold that settled into my chest, and it seemed like I shook it off, but I really hadn't.
I'd get up in the morning, feeling GREAT, thinking "THIS is the day that it's Finally Over," only to be dragging ass by the early afternoon, and absolutely exhausted by the time I got home from work of an evening. I'm not sure why I didn't go to a doctor ~ probably 'cuz I thought it was just a bad cold.
As things turned out, I had walking pneumonia, and the ONLY way to get over it was with a course of antibiotics, which, because I had waited so long to start, had to be switched up a couple of times, since the disease had become resistant to all of the antibodies I currently carried.
Long story short ~ it was a nightmare, and I should have gone to the doctor by the third week of suffering the symptoms. Any cold lasting over 2 weeks is NOT "just a cold," and should be diagnosed and treated.
A bit of advice ~ be careful with cough drops, especially menthol ones. They will upset your stomach if you take too many of 'em, causing nausea and, perhaps, vomiting, which is HORRIBLE for a raw throat; and they'll make your farts STINK TO HIGH HEAVEN. (Mints will do this, also)
Oh. And when I say Stink To High Heaven? Even YOU won't be able to stand them! (Not that anyone
enjoys their own farts ~ but your own NEVER smell as bad as "other" people's, you know?)
