I'm hoping that the Republican party boots out the Christian coalition and actually makes a representative party that stands for small government/fiscal conservatism and civil liberties/individual freedom, and has some kind of plan for economic growth that doesn't involve incinerating money by the barge-load.  I'm dreaming though because we are getting exactly the kind of representative government we deserve, dumb ass leaders for a dumb ass population.

Wrong party.

Right, like I said, that's what I wish it was, a party like that does not exist in American politics anymore.

My wife blames the democrats as being on a witch hunt and would vote for Palin regardless of which party she runs under, assuming she will ever run again. She thinks Palin did the right thing resigning because now they have no power over her. HA! She fucking hates Obama and has turned against all democrats for electing him.
Reality; A shared narrative we all agree to believe.

i'd have to do a whole lot of research about Palin before i'd be convinced.

Is this some throw back to 70's feminism? I am woman hear me roar and all that stuff? Dont get me wrong, my hatred of Palin has nothing to do with her gender, or her appearance, or even her political inclination. I hate the bitch for all the right reasons, her ignorance about pretty much everything, her nouveau riche elitism, but most of all her moralist hypocrisy.

And so far, from the little I see, Obama aint doing a bad job. He inherited a mountain range of merde that isnt gonna get cleaned up in his first term... or even his second term if he gets one.

To ascribe that to Obama (or Bush, or whomever) alone is crazy.

Re: Palin Resigns Reply #42 on: August 01, 2009, 09:33:09 AM
I doubt President Obama will be elected to a second term and by 2012 a lot of shit will have finally hit the fan. It isn't going to be pretty but I hope the masses can keep their attitudes in check.

Little difference in perspective, here:

To me, he inherited a mole-hill,

which he is rapidly turning into a mountain...

And i dislike him 'cuz he's a liar and a cheater.

The war in Iraq was a molehill?
The complete eroding of the US financial system was a molehill?
The recession was a molehill?
The trillions in debt accumulated over the previous 8 years was a molehill?
The total loss of reputation and general hatred for the US was a molehill?
The fact that we DIDN't owe our financial ass to the People's Republic of China BEFORE 1-20-09 is a molehill?

Fyre you have to spend money to make money. And we gotta make some money. I mean, I'm all in favor of a total collapse of the US economic system and then a complete rebuilding with some regulation, but since that ain't gonna happen today, let the man try. Either way we're all gonna pay.

Things were good in '01 after the Clintons, but no thanks to them either. Economic success of the late 90s was part imagination and part Reagan-era sacrifices coming into maturity. And ohhhhhh did we hate that fucker too. But no one gave him any credit for the good 12 years later.

Corrected.

Re: Palin Resigns Reply #44 on: August 01, 2009, 10:26:11 AM
I'd give more credit to Bush I than Reagan, really.

He was the one who bit the bullet to raise taxes and cut spending even further after Reagan ran up those huge deficits, which paved the way for Clinton.

I also think the cost of Reagan's deficits in cuts to social & infrastructure programs far outweighs the brief prosperity of the 90s.  Especially since we didn't take the opportunity to reinvest in all of those programs that Reagan cut, then were cut further to deal with the deficit he created with exorbitant military spending.

Military expansion and agitation also has led to us paying for an absurd number of foreign bases and useless weapon platforms as well as contributing to the blowback we've seen from terrorism.

Re: Palin Resigns Reply #45 on: August 01, 2009, 02:42:36 PM
If Congress actually had the balls to cut all non-Constitutionally mandated programs, it's amazing how much money the taxpayer would save.

But Congress is scared to sacrifice their own perches of power to be re-elected. Too many chickenshits and not enough asses in the fire.

You could invent a time machine, travel back in time, and take video of him emerging from the birth canal in Hawaii and the birthers still wouldn't believe it's true.

It's epic stupidity.

What is TRULY epic stupidity is the fact that, although i can't prove the negative, Obozo either refuses, or CAN't, prove the positive,

and neither can you.

Let me ask you something:  You don't believe in God because there is no PROOF that He exists.

Why, then, would you believe that  a mere man needs NO PROOF, whatsoever, to support his claims of whatever???

Yes.  THAT's what i just don't get...

What is epic stupidity is the fact that, although i can't prove the negative, (and you might actually want to look up the "rules" about that)

I'm aware of the rules about proving negatives.

I'm also aware that there are no grounds on which to claim that his birth certificate is a forgery.  The state of Hawaii has confirmed that Obama has a valid birth certificate.  It was even posted on the internet - though that has led to the "experts" making more spurious claims about evidence of forgery. Various "experts" making ever-shifting arguments about the document does not make a compelling case to believe that it's a forgery.

Quote
rest assured, when the TRUTH comes out, he cheated his way through whatever education he was exposed to (i say "exposed" because it obviously didn't "take") and sucked off the system just as much (maybe MORE) than most.  (i do believe that he can't allow his college records to be released, due to his ALIEN status, AND because he used his race to scam the financial aid system.)

Proving that he cheated his way through college and scammed the system is a pretty tall order.

Everything I've read about him indicated that he was a decent lecturer at law school, so he possessed at least enough knowledge to teach a class.  He was at least good enough that the University of Chicago school of law offered him a tenure track position multiple times.  You can't teach a course and not know anything about the topic.

Quote
i freely admit that i'm a "Birther."  No hospital can claim him, he and his family seem to not have their stories straight about where, exactly, he was born, and to me, that's a red flag.

"Story" not straight, WITHIN the FAMILY???

Please...

His mom, dad, and mom's obstetrician are all dead.  Those are the people you would expect to give the most accurate account of his birth.

I'd bet you that my family can't get where I was born straight outside of my mom and dad, either.

Quote
Well, just read some of the stuff.  Try to have an open mind, and DO put yourself in the hypothetical positions:

When asked for your I.D. ~ driver's license, birth certificate and social security number ~

do you rush out, hire the best bunch of lawyers you can find, even though you AND your spouse are supposedly shit-hot lawyers, in your own right,

and spend a MILLION dollars

TO KEEP SOMEONE FROM SEEING SAID I.D.???

It just isn't logical.  It isn't a normal thing to do, in the circumstances.  THAT being the case, there is definitely SOMETHING out of kilter, here.

Yes.  I would hire other lawyers.  I would hire other lawyers because it's generally foolish to represent yourself, I was running for office and didn't have the time to devote to being tied up in court cases, and because there's a pattern of harassment on the part of the sorts of individuals that request all of these documents.

Generally, if I'm asked for ID by someone and don't have either a legal requirement or a compelling reason to produce it, I am sure as shit going to tell them to fuck themselves.

On the one hand, Fyre is my friend. I overlook a lot of character flaws in my friends. OTOH I believe that the basis of venom in most of the birthers is simple racism. It's not even complex racism, it's all a show to externalize the fact that a portion of the populous don't want a darkie in the white house. And I hate that. I hate that as much as I hate it when people scream JEW HATER every time I talk about pulling all aid to Israel. But many of my friends are birthers.

So I emotionally disconnect myself from the subject.
